No to Public School “Unified Dress Code”

No to Public School Unified Dress Code in Asheboro City Schools

Category: Education

Target: All Asheboro Citizens, Students, and Parents of Asheboro City Public Schools

Background:

The Asheboro City School Board of Education is trying to obligate their Students to wear a school uniform. From the newspapers and meetings held it seems some individuals have to much time on their hands and think the good citizens of Asheboro should afford such wasteful spending of taxpayer money to diminish or ignore the process of law; and fairness afforded by a petition on the “Unified Dress Code” by all legal and/or voting citizens within the school districts.

It is requested that all action stop on the guidelines for a “Unified Dress Code” until the Citizens of Asheboro City School Districts opposition know what remedies we have after petitioning said citizens/parents/students on the side of “NO to Asheboro City  Unified Dress Code.

The Asheboro City School Board of Education in appearance displays a field of fairness it seems. But from observances and conversations it is not fairness but a well organized group to stripe the the First Amendment Rights of Freedom of Expression in Public Schools and do more damage to the citizens.

Some concerns for the public involvement are:

When speaking with those who support this issue, it is amazing all the misinformation or the facts they use to deny others their rights within Asheboro, NC.

Consideration to health and well being of others involved in wearing the clothing is not thought of by the minority Pro- Groups.  Public School Laws of the US and NC Constitution are totally ignored; and citizens/students civil rights are not made public when attending the presentation for the Pro – Groups.

Now we have citizens rights being ignored.   Remember it is a requirement by US / NC Law to have public schools.   Remember citizens are paying the taxes to keep the schools going.  And think; if this is not enough citizens are to be obligated to wear something they do not want to wear or to buy.  Actually, some Asheboro Public School Students and their parents are going to be supposedly obligated by the Asheboro City School Board to wear limited clothing designed to flatter lighter weighted people.

Point of fact is there is a current satisfactory Dress Code; and laws govern this current Dress Code which can be referenced at the Schools Web Site (www.asheboro.k12.nc.us/   or http://asheboro.in10sity.net/Images/Users/1/district/pdf/Section%204000/4316.pdf  )

When a child does not conform to the “Unified Dress Code” in the Public School System in Asheboro, North Carolina, some actions will be taken to correct this nonconformity,  said by several staff members.  Will the punishment eventually end in suspension or denial of entrance into our schools so the students can not get a public school education without conforming.

Burden of embarassment and shame of not conforming is a form of brainwashing, in some citizens opinion.

Totally there is a violation to deny the Citizens of Asheboro the right of transparency.   The right to petition “against” said issue of “Unified Dress Code” has not been started to my knowledge as of the date of 12 Feb. 2009, on such a life altering event dealing with our Public School.

Requested is an audit for transparency of cost,  and who is paying for the Proposed Program of “Unified Dress Code” to be run in Asheboro, NC.

This topic of  “Unified Dress Code” is never to be approached again by the Asheboro City School Board unless a poll/vote of both students and parents is done beforehand to illustrate a strong support of said issue of dress changes.  Within this polling above if a ballot “IS NOT RETURNED IT WILL BE CONSIDERED A ‘NO’ FOR A CHANGE IN DRESS CODE”.

A poll should have been done at the expense of the few starting the “Unified Dress Code” for 2009-2010.  In the future minority are to be burdened with the cost not taxpayers for such projects.

Remember we who oppose this are known but the few people who started this proposal will never be known.  In the future when minority groups want to implement a change for our citizens in Asheboro City to follow – they are to bring the strong proof of numbers supporting the issue with data showing the numbers of people, the citizens, who want the same change.

Petition:

We – the citizens, parents, and students in Asheboro City School Districts – say “NO” to the Unified Dress Code Initiative to obligate the Asheboro City Public Children.

And we support action required above in said, Background to stop the “Unified Dress Code”.

(Comments welcomed on draft above, and Thank-you so much.)
